Here is what I did for my border:

• I did two rounds of: (sc, ch 3, sc) in any corner space, (ch 3, sk next sc, sc in next sc) all the way around.
• next round, work the same but ch only 2 each time.
• Final round: 3dc in ch 2, sc in next ch 2 all the way around.
