I started with size 3 and put my increases after/before the second stitch instead of the first stitch, which makes more of a “side” height to the sock when looking at the edge.

I also increased to 48, knit a few more rounds, then increased to 52. I K2tog at those 4 places later to bring it back in. There are 31 rounds of size 3 before decreasing, or 3.25”. Then knit 10 more rounds with the same needles. .75”.

Changed to size 2 needle. I knit 16 rounds or 2” in the size 2 needle, then switched back to the size 3, and knit another 11 rounds or 1.12”. Sock measures 7.25” with light stretch at this point.

I didn’t switch needles for the ribbing, both because I forgot and because I have legs with edema that swell a lot, so this will keep them nice and loose.
