Notes

This is the first actual garment I’ve crocheted (I don’t really count scarves as garments), and I’m hooked! It worked up really fast, despite using a LOT of yarn. I didn’t keep up with how much I used, but the skein I started with had only had a few small amigurumi balls taken out, and the shrug ate up the rest. Not that I’m complaining, mind you.

It’s nice and stretchy, and not too hot to wear on summer evenings. Assembly was a snap. The only problem I have with it is that I made the sleeves too long, and that’s entirely my fault. The pattern is super easy to follow, and doesn’t require any MacGuyver-ing at all. The only thing I did differently is regarding the sleeves: I single-crocheted them together instead of sewing them together with a needle. It just seemed sturdier that way.

I definitely recommend this pattern if you’ve never made anything to wear. It’s quick, simple, and incredibly beautiful.
