Fits super well, good amount of negative ease, would have liked the v neck to be a wee bit lower but I’ll deal with it happily. Being a lady of larger buzzies, I feel that high v-necks do not really suit me. I probably should take the same approach to necklines that people take to baby jumpers - however big / low you think it’s going to be, make it bigger / lower.
I think this will be a fantastic layering piece. The microfibre in it and the lace pattern (ventilation worked in!) will hopefully keep me from turning into Sweaty Betty while giving a layer of warmth. Much needed nowadays, what with the layer of snow outside my window getting deeper with each passing moment.
I recommend some negative ease, shows off the lace better and, well, I like a top that fits and doesn’t add bulk. Saying that, I have some of the chunkiest cable knits on the needles at the moment. Apparently you spell confused S-T-E-P-H.
At first glance the instructions were a wee bit complicated. I posted said qualms on another project, at which point the designer proactively got in touch and offered her help, should I need it. Wonderful.
Upon closer inspection the instructions turned out to be just detailed :S Which brings me to my main point: when you read the instructions, and follow them, life does become a lot simpler!
I really don’t know why so few people make this lady’s designs, they are simple, effective pieces, well-written with clean lines.
The yarn is nice and soft but it really rather snaggy, not just during knitting, but after it’s been knitted up, I am going to try and remember not to wearing my bracelets!
Getting it on eventually I’m in two minds, I’m not convinced it’s that flattering. The photos look better than my reflection, maybe it’s that self-distortion we all apply to ourselves. Styled the way I intend to wear it, casual, with jeans. May pair it with black trousers for work.
I also need to get a boyfriend who I can coerce into taking photos of me!
