72 cyl with ribber needles at half pitch for total of 108 sts
cast on waste for a few rounds for a sound web. Tie on project yarn, leaving a 2 foot tail. Knit 3 rounds. Put ribber on and add needles as you go. Knit and pearl for 120 (this was a short hat). Stop and remove pin from ribber. Manually turn tappet plate on ribber only to drop all pearl stitches. Remove ribber. Knit 3 rounds. Leave 2 foot tail and cast off with additional waste yarn to leave for next project.

Ensure that all pearl sts have dropped and unraveled, stitch through each knit stitch on one end and pull it tight to form a casing. Pearl sides tog, do the same with the other side so that both ends gather and push up towards each other, making it double thick. Will need to add several more rounds for roll up or the ‘Smurf’ type end.
