Prior to the Book Saver, my paperbacks were being wrapped up in a plastic sandwich bag. I knew there had to be a better and cuter way to save my books while traveling. And that’s when I came up with this cotton cover. I’ve made a lot of crocheted phone socks and I thought, “It’s basically the same thing, only bigger!” In no time, and with terrible hand cramps, I had a fine book saver. The flap is a bit crude. I didn’t turn the work, I just stopped at the end and started over on the right. I wanted to keep the consistency of the sides. It works, and it’s cute.
