Notes

Gauge is roughly 20-21 sts so I cast on 104 for 20 inch circumference hat. Used provisional cast on so I can join the live edge to the cast on for a folded brim. I’ll use the same technique that’s in the brownstone beanie to have a reverse stockinette section followed by a turn to have the stockinette facing out for the crown.

My reverse stockinette section is 2 cm. After the GSR turn I knit for 16 more cms for a total of 18 cm after joining the brim and before starting the decreases. But when I finished the decreases the hat was way too tall, so I cut into it and removed 12 rounds in the section that would be hidden by the brim - just in case it turned out messy. so for future reference after joining the brim the next section only needs to be 16 cm, including the reverse stockinette section, before starting the decreases
