Modifications
I am knitting the front and back seperately instead of in the round to add more structure and hold with side seams, otherwise I’m afraid it will grow lengthwise in time because the yarn is very elastic and the gauge is loose. I’m knitting with one strand of yarn.

For the front I’ve cast on 42 + 2 edge sts = 44 sts in total. For the back I’ve cast on 46 + 2 edge sts = 48 sts in total.

In each of the two wave patterns I’m changing every right side decrease to a left leaning modified k3tbl, and every left side decrease to a regular right leaning k3tog; this way both sides are mirrored and completely symmetrical, decreases are laying flat and bulk-free on both sides, and both left and right side of each wave look equally neat.

I find it a wee bit short, so I’ve added 4 extra rows before armhole decreases - this however changes how decreases are placed according to the wave pattern.

I’m aiming for M/L.

This is a present for my niece who is 10, but physically more like a 14-year old :D

My verdict on this pattern?
It’s difficult because it’s poorly written. The texture and wave pattern is quite easy, but the trouble begins at the armholes. When decreasing for armholes it’s unclear what to do after various steps and how many sts should be on the needle at different stages, making it very difficult to keep track, and also the stitch counts for the decreases are incorrect. The sizing and how to measure gauge is not stated, nor are there any clear indications for final measurements in order to customise the sweater or to calculate the amount of required yarn - I ended up buying way too much yarn for this project.

Most of the top portion of the sweater is guesswork (which is why I had to frog several times) and re-calculation from my side, but with logic and a good deal of patience it is doable, but not for the novice knitter I would say. If you know how to tweak and adjust things along the way, go for it, because then this is just a fun challenge.
