I am knitting this on blunt, wooden needles to firstly, avoid splitting the yarn (it is somewhat splitty, but far from the worst I have tried) and secondly, to prevent the stitches from sliding off the needles especially my chiagoo which are my preferred needles for most knitting.

I also much prefer to knit with this single strand silk than knitting with two strands of fingering weight silk yarns which would be a nightmare to weave in and keep secure. This yarn has a chainette structure which makes it perfect for the Russian join! Completely invisible and way less ends to weave in later. The chainette also makes the yarn more elastic and pleasant to knit with - silk yarns otherwise being hard on my hands.

So far I love working with this yarn! It is soft and elastic to work with and does not feel like typical rough (matte) silk yarns. This yarn looks rustic but is quite soft. It feels like a merino-cotton summer yarn. I am eager to see how it blocks and behaves with wearing!
