Fond as I am of the long-tailed cast-on, I learned on previous shawlettes, Long-Tailed Cast-on’s lack the stretchiness you need for dramatic edging. I used the simple backwards loop cast on (it’s a series of half hitches.)

I put 6 mm glass seed beads on all five Bridesmaids shawls.

Six Shawlettes knit from Oct 2010 to May 2011 for Nina’s wedding.

In actuality each shawlette took between 80 and 100 hours to complete. I finished the lace section on all five, then did the simple stockinette short rows while I travelled in the Spring.
