We’ve all heard of drunk knitting…right? Well this is “Stone-Cold-Sober Knitting”…In fact, talking and/or watching TV may be ill advised.
Brilliant pattern…Enjoyed it all the way, setbacks and all. Began as a challenge project with TheWereCow, when we both fell in love with this yarn at Maryland Sheep & Wool back in May…Look for us at Rhinebeck!!
Cast on Saturday night, Aug 3. Knit all day Sunday before discovering a couple of disasters. Tried to fix but in the end I realize I like knitting better than troubleshooting. Frogged and cast on a second time Monday Aug 5.
Rows 1-24 are the easy warm-up to get your head into lace. Then you hit section 2. If your idea of a good time is a challenge, you have come to the right place.
Now I’ve been working for two weeks and have reached row 49. I am afraid any errors will only be revealed when I block this project.
Although I typically prefer charts, I find the written directions easier to follow….In fact, I have to hide all but the row I’m working. I use highlighting tape to keep my place in the pattern.
An elaborate system of stitch markers is helping me keep my project in order. I’ve marked the edges, middle, repeats and the reverse stockinette columns (you can see easily on the chart).
And my final note…LIFE LINES…Love using my Knit Picks Needles, because life lines are as easy as slipping a piece of thread in that little torquing hole and knitting on.
Week 3… Reached Row 100 but I have only a couple of yards of yarn left with 42 rows remaining. (My gauge must be way off)
Buying more didn’t work…Sadly I’m now ISO scraps of Sangria from other Ravelers.
Back in business thanks to my “Yarnian Angels”…lanidaniels, AbiS and Spasmo…You have the kind spirits that make Ravelry a community.
Finished knitting, Sept 6, 2013…wove in ends & Blocking as of Sept 7.
