Notes

Fifteen days…Choice of pattern, yarn and needle size were ALL driven by my need to produce this stole FAST

This is my first project completed in lace weight yarn…A good next step for beginning lace knitters who have worked in fingering and are ready to try lace weight.

Notes: I cast on 89 stitches and knit 20 repeats. I stopped when I ran out of time. (It is blocking now and I leave for the airport tomorrow morning.)

I was able to correct mistakes and retrieve dropped stitches, so after 5 days I didn’t bother with life lines. I figured out placement for markers and they really helped.

I began this project with 16 days to go until my Brother in Law’s wedding and only a third of my Laminaria Stole completed. I was forced to find a faster lace project…I’m glad I chose this one. It was a better match for my abilities.

Update: May 22, 2010 Stowe, Vermont-Two lovely people were joined in marriage today…Best Wishes to Dennis and Jon!!!

My stole received lots of favorable attention and complements…Probably because I had my sister photographing me running through the hills at the Van Trapp Family Farm…
