Lace will initially be 21-22 inches long, but when stitches are worked around it, will shrink to 20 inches. When working at the shoulder area, switch to single crochet along the sides of the solid bits (SC and spike stitches) so that there’s an inch or so of solid stitching for extra durability where the sleeve supports the rest of the top over the shoulder.
