This year I have been planning to knit or craft something for charity. I saw this original idea come by and thought I’d contribute a hand.

Some people in nursing or care homes sometimes feel very confused or lonely, and I think this is even worse in these times. The only thing which makes some of them feel calm and at easy is to hold somebodies hand. Unfortunatly, the sad truth is that there is not always someone available to hold their hands for a whole day.

Two nurses came up with the idea to crochet a hand and arm, which they can give to the residents. And it works! Holding the hand calms them down and they feel better.

I decided to help by contributing a hand. Feeling lonely is such a sad business…
