Ange Smith’s lovely Christmas jumper pattern gave me inspiration for a baby hat so, with Ange’s permission, I created a down-sized version of the chart in Excel, to include decreases for a hat.

I knitted this is sport-weight baby yarn with 3mm needles and it has turned out very cute but a bit small for my 5 mth old. However it was perfect for a newborn who arrived in December. I imagine you could make this to fit an older baby just by using a slightly thicker yarn.

Update: lots of people have asked me to share the adapted chart, so I contacted Coats Craft UK and they have granted me permission to share the adaptation on the condition that I make it clear that it’s not a Coats Design but my own work.
