Notes

I made this shawl to keep me occupied whilst moving into a new flat (without internet access for ages) in the hope of completing it in time for Hallowe’en of 2008.

I managed to complete it with a few days to spare.

NB: for the most part this pattern is pretty straight forward to follow, though attention to detail is compulsory in order to keep the bats consistent.

However, I found the edging of the border of the shawl instructions to be somewhat inconsistent and the stitches where shaping took place didn’t make much sense to me. Instead I simply used stocking stitch for the final two rows, so that my shawl has a sharp edge (though with the lace effect in the borders) as opposed to the pointy bat-wing shaping of the original pattern.
