This was a special request….a sweater in school colors with the school’s monogram for a commemorative graduation bear.

This is well-written pattern which is very easy to adjust. The bear measures 10 inches high when seated, 7 inches shoulder to shoulder and has a large tummy. I followed Bernie’s suggestion regarding stitch distribution found here. I also modified the body and sleeve length. I added stripes to the sleeves and hem while knitting but decided to highlight those a bit more by crocheting over the stripes with a 4.00mm hook.

For the monogram, I had tried duplicate stitch but did not like the look. I decided to use a 3.00mm crochet hook to crochet the letters onto the sweater. They look much better.

This is a great pattern. Easy to follow and easy to customize.
