This was a wonderful pattern…a relaxing and fun knit. The picot cast off was even fun. When blocking, I merely laid this out flat, straightening out the picot edgings and eyelet sections. No stretching or pulling. The straight edge measures 74 inches.

But the yarn was another story…a love/hate relationship. It is a beautiful yarn…the color is magnificent…..it is soft with a subtle sheen especially after soaking…and lovely to knit with! But it left dye all over my fingers each time I worked on this scarf. This scarf is a gift and I could never give it away or wear it myself with that issue. Fortunately, for me, Jasmin of the Knitmore Girls had just had a bad experience with dye washing out of a finished sock. So I used her recommended method of soaking and microwaving using citric acid. The details are here. After going through the process twice, the dye stopped running. As much as I loved this yarn, I do not think I could purchase it again.

But I will be using PaulaP’s pattern again! :)
