Begin with a long tail cast on of 96 stitches and four rows of garter stitch to create a hem with three garter ridges. Begin following the chart to the right using 6 repeats of the the 16 stitch pattern. The pattern begins at a halfway point so the front snowflake is centered.

The scarf was a simple rib. Cast on 11 stitches, with fingering weight yarn and 2.75mm needles,
and K2, P2, K2, P2, K2 then purl the remaining stitch. Repeat the row on each side until you reach the desired length.
