Some bunny is ready to trick or treat on a frosty Halloween evening.

The dress was designed as I knit, using colors from my stash that looked good together. I started with a long tail cast on of 96 stitches and knit rows 2-5 on straight needles joining in the round on row 6. I followed the chart pictured on the left repeating it 24 times. The long tail cast on is row 1 and creates its own garter ridge for the three garter ridge hem. On row 11 of the chart, I purled all the stitches to create another garter ridge above the yellow and blue rectangles.

The decrease stitches for this dress begin on row 29 rather than the usual Row 27 as written in the Seasonal Dresses pattern. This will make the candy corn tips a bit taller…giving a flame effect.

The adorable cape is Julie’s Williams “little capelet” pattern linked above. I added a picot edge bind off. The bag was knit with a cast on of 15 stitches on 2.5mm needles. I knit 27 rows in stockinette stitch, seamed up the sides and attached an i cord handle. The candy corn motif was done in duplicate stitch.

The tiny pumpkin was knit with fingering weight yarn, malabrigo in terracotta, and madelinetosh in jade. It’s a great free pattern by Marnie Ann Joyce and linked above.

The bunny was knit using 2.75 needles and Sublime extra fine merino dk yarn in caramel.
