This is my first Tunisian project.
This is my first Charted project.
This is my first Intarsia project.
I am weaving in the ends as I go so I don’t get discouraged at the end.
So far, I am -very- happy with the results. But I did have some issues. I can not figure out how chaining 38 creates 38 loops to work with. I kept coming up with 39. So I chained 37 instead and was able to get 38 that way.
My other issue is the last loop. If I make it the way I made the rest of them then I do not get matching edging. Am I supposed to be going though the full V rather than just the front? I’m not sure, so I am going to experiment with this on the next strip.
On a side note, I am almost finished the first strip. I noticed that the best idea probably would have been to stick with the 39 stitches. The pattern has a bad OCD flaw. At the widest point of the diamond, there are 7 stitches on the right and 6 on the left. While this is how the chart looks, I think it would’ve been better with 7 and 7. But then I would be thrown off with the top stitching, so I am not frogging three weeks worth of work just to add one extra stitch.
If I do this pattern again, I am going to make changes. The biggest change… I have cords long enough that I will not need to make panels. One giant pieces with 14 stitches between each diamond and 7 on each edge.
Edging: Nice and simple sc around (sc chain sc in corner) then dc around (dc chain dc in corner).
