Modifications for 7” ankle circumference

These instructions are for the right sock.

Cast-on

CO 57 sts. Instead of doing ABAB, work charts ABA where chart A uses the L size (20 sts increasing to 24) and chart B uses the S size (17 sts increased to 21). After setup rows, you will have a total of 69 sts.

Heel Flap Setup

Work chart C over the first A repeat and half of B section (all stitches on first circ). For remaining stitches work in charts B and A pattern per instructions.

Some adjustment of chart C (neither S nor L size will match perfectly) will be required to keep the pattern consistent but it’s pretty easy to figure out.

Upon finishing chart C, there are 65 sts divided 31/34

Heel Flap

Work chart D making adjustments to pattern based on what works for the number of stitches. Do not do decreases.

Turning the Heel

Turn heel as conventional.

Foot

Redistribute stitches for foot, work in pattern for another repeat and a half (to row 16) and then decrease 8 sts per pattern. Decrease sts per pattern and graft when 18 sts remain.
