After seeing a lot of crochet shields floating around etsy and tumblr I decided to make one myself. Using a simple semi-circle pattern, I used sparkly blue yarn for the centre of the Captain’s side (as he is the star spangled man with the plan) for 12 rows, followed by six red rows, six white rows and six red rows.
For the Winter Soldier side, I used light grey for the centre, followed by two rows of sparkly grey and two rows of black. Then four further rows of light grey, two rows of sparkly grey, two rows of black; four light grey and two sparkly. Both sides should then be edged with a single row of black.
All being well, both sides will match up - you should be able to graph these together quite nicely (I used black yarn and you can’t really see it)
Obviously Winter Soldier side should be on the left.
I then got some red and white felt and drew out a star template on some paper before cutting to size and sewing on with thread.
PLEASE NOTE THAT I DON’T OWN MARVEL, CAPTAIN AMERICA OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT.
I made this for me for my own amusement - please feel free to recreate.
