swatched on US 4 (3.50 mm) needles, hand washed in normal detergent and machine dried - swatch dimensions didn’t seem to change much pre vs. post wash + block

19 st x 26 rows in 3 in. = 6.33 st x 8.67 rows in 1 in.

using this gauge…FO will be 90% of the given size in pattern gauge (5.75 st x 8 rows in 1 in.)

should have made the swatch bigger….not sure if I have enough to make another, bigger swatch…

should be close enough if I just go one size up for the needles?

casting on junior large size on US 5 (3.75 mm)

finished brim and turned - should be able to make gauge

maybe put in a lifeline before starting decreases to check for right length

followed pattern for decreases - nice and snug fit to the top of the head

wove yarn through twice at the end for extra strength

machine washed and laid flat and unfolded to dry
