I’ve been on a bit of a Shibui kick recently & I must say that I am a big fan of their yarns. Single ply yarns aren’t my favorite to work with however Birch is gloriously soft and has a beautiful halo. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with it again.

This was a vacation emergency knit. I lost my yarn when travelling home to Toronto this summer and wasn’t able to continue on the only project I had brought with me. My friends at The Purple Purl came to the rescue (again!) and set me up with Fresco. I’m really happy with the finished piece and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the pattern or yarn.

I made a few modifications to the design to better fit my frame. My mods were as follows;

-knit at a tighter gauge (~ 25 sts + 46 rows/10 cm)
-picked up sts along the neck opening & worked a few rounds of garter
-lengthened the sleeves
