Notes

Cast on in the car on the way to our winter break ski trip with the Buschs in Oregon. Using folded brim from Oslo hat. 3mm needles, 120 sts.

February 17
Finished brim, tried to size needles up but didn’t like the looser fabric, so stayed at 3mm and increased count to 133 for slouchier hat.

February 26
Just finished the 4th layer (including triangle) at 7 stitches, and it’s wide enough that I’m going to transition to 6 stitches now.

March 20
I took a break to design my mittens and capelet, but I didn’t want this to hang out until winter. Finished 5th row with 6 stitches, moving to 5 for the next row.

March 21
I knew it would just take a few more hours of knitting to complete! It’s not as slouchy as I hoped. It does cover my bun, but snugly. I should have done 2 more layers at 7 stitches for the drape I wanted. But, I would have run out of dark yarn, because of the doubled brim.

The pattern was fun and I absolutely adore the Alpaca!!! llama I will absolutely wear it, and I think its perfect with hair down.
