I changed the pattern of the hat because it looked a little too girly to me. It’s really sweet for a baby hat, but I thought incongruous for a guy. In retrospect, I should have used garter stitch instead of ribbed to imitate a wrinkly forehead.

The secret to the ears seems to be starch, but i ended up trying to get them to stand up using a smaller needle size and strategic stitches. It was hard to get it to look right. I was satisfied with the result, but I didn’t love it.
