Notes

Inspiration:
The Ancient Egyptians believed that as long as a pharaoh’s name was remembered, the king would live on through eternity. King Tut was a minor King. He died when he was only nineteen years old. But the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun and its fabulous wealth has made King Tut one of the most famous Pharaohs. The discovery of the tomb of King Tut has ensured that Tutankhamun is one Egyptian Pharaoh who will never be forgotten.

Construction:
Pattern is well written, the PDF is beautifully and professionally done. However, I really wanted a chart, so I created one for rows 1 - 30, and rows 62 - 83 (31 - 62 are repeats of previous rows. Also, I copied and pasted the PDF instructions into a doc rather than use all of that ink to print the pattern. It is an enjoyable pattern to make. I expect to use slightly less yarn than the designer used because of modifications.

I plan to make this in one color only, beaded in all the chain 3 spaces (except for the ones directly above the feathers), and at the ends of the feathers (601 beads total). Each section uses 60 beads, except for the last one which uses 61.

Modified the feathers slightly to add beads as follows: Feather: Sl st in next st, ch5, CL in next st, ch 1, pull up a loop and place bead, sl st through top of CL, ch6, sl st in next st.

Beads:
Ordered seed beads, Dyna-Mites™, 40 grams, glass, silver-lined light green, #6 round with square hole. This turned out to be 745 beads plus 3 un-useable ones.

Modifications: Added beads to the end of the feathers. See modified instructions above. Added beads to the chain 3 spaces, and only used one color.

Blocking:
Pre-blocking dimensions: 42” long and 8.5” wide
Blocking notes:
Wires: none
Post-blocking dimensions: 44” long and 11” wide
