I actually worked from the “other hat” pattern, because I wanted a ribbed border around the base of the hat.

From there, I picked up 15 sts per earflap, worked 4 rows in pattern and began decreasing 2 sts every other row until I had 6 sts left. Then I BO and added braids.

I love feeling so bright right now, when the sun sets around 5 o’clock! This hat is a keeper.

(And yes, this is an adult hat - don’t be fooled by the tiny model.)
