Hello. I’m using this pattern with Koigu fingering weight yarn and size 3 DPNs. I cast on 12 stitches for the heel flap and worked 24 rows. On row 25, I bound off all stitches except the last one.

With this one stitch on my needle, I then picked up 17 stitches along the side of the heel, 10 stitches along the bottom, and 18 stitches along the other side of the heel.

I then began knitting the rows in stockinette stitch, slipping the first two stitches of each row as written. Worked for a total of 38 rows. At the end of row 38, I cable cast on 12 stitches and joined.

The stitches were as follows: Needle #1 14 stitches, #2 15 stitches, #3 14 stitches, #4 15 stitches.The 14 stitches of #1 begins with the last 6 stitches I cast on. I worked in the round for a total of 30 rows.

I began the toe shaping on row 31.

It’s a fun pattern since there are no seams whatsoever to sew. I did a kitchener stitch to close the toe. And for added embellishment, I knit a small leaf motif and attached it by hand along with some small beads.
