Yeah!! finished and only 1 month after the holidays! Maybe for VKL gala 2016, maybe for our anniversary next month, maybe for a dinner date next week?

Now, where to go for the photo shoot?

hmm… and the other really important part, the cowl neckline also has direction issues. Row in question should read: Decrease round: work in stitch pat as established to 2 sts before next marker, SKP, sl marker, work to next marker, sl marker, k2tog, work to end of rnd.

Practice folding a piece of paper to get a visualization of the box pleat and you will see that to create and secure the folds, you will be knitting from 3 needles at once 1 st from one dpn, 1 stitch from another dpn, and the 3rd stitch directly from the project needle.

row in question for box pleat ~

knit even in pattern 9 st, put next 6 st on one dpn, next 6 st on another dpn and hold both together in front making sure to turn one of those dpn 180 degrees to fold fabric according to box pleat and knit the next 6 st together with those from the dpn, place next 5 st on one dpn, next 5 st on another dpn and hold to back making sure to turn one of those dpn 180 degrees to fold fabric according to box pleat and knit the next 5 st together with those from the dpn, knit 14 st even in pattern, place next 5 st on one dpn, next 5 st on another dpn and hold to front making sure to turn one of this dpn 180 degrees to fold fabric according to box pleat and knit the next 5 st together with those from the dpn, put next 6 st on one dpn, next 6 on another dpn, and hold both in back turning one needles as before and according to the fold of the box pleat, and knit the next 6 st together with those from the dpn, work last 9 st even in pattern.

follow rest according to direction.

1/3 ~ playing with dye lot, here…
I will bring back the dark with the collar….
And, I need to send VK the correct directions for the box pleats (which is what this beauty is all about…)

update ~ well, this will not make the first of the holiday parties so now I’m aiming for my birthday (end of month). It is tapestry like in EVERY way. I lengthened it by 1 inch for age appropriateness.

So, the first of the holiday parties has been announced. I say to myself, what will I wear? (as if I have nothing in my wardrobe that would be perfect) and I see this yarn and project in my stash… hmm… one month. I am thinking present for hubby is not done. And I know from experinece that this is ALWAYS a bad idea to put a due date on a project… but here is the yarn that is now rolled and ready, gauge worked up. Do I dare see if I can have this for this season? Maybe, I should call this project Against All Odds.

first challenge (aside from the time issue) ~ work with yarn with mix and match dye lot.
(yarn specific to dye lot is packaged in hanks of ten and I needed more)
