This was a surprisingly fast knit after figuring gauge. One goes about the corset first which is perfect because it allows for immediate sizing. Picking up stitches along both sides of the corset finishes off the project fairly easily. I love the ruffle at the hip and purposely knitted the medium to get a fuller effect. Also, knitting the medium in the bodice made for greater width, of course, which then, again, allowed for a fuller amount of fabric to be gathered in at the empire. That fullness above and below allowed my waistline to appear smaller which was the look I was after. I blocked the bodice prior to sewing it into the corset to get a polished look there and I did eventually take that seam to the sewing machine for a more secure joining. The wider bodice did mean for a wider neckline which I did not want. So, I threaded a length of elastic thread through the ribbing and pulled to exactly the measurement I wanted. Worked perfectly. And no, one cannot see that thread.
I do love the pink, I love the “girly, girly” look and feel of it all, and I look forward to my adventures with this lovely piece.

Admittedly, I do tend to fuss. After viewing the original pictures, I felt I wanted the corset a bit tighter. So I took apart the empire seam and reworked it to make it tighter. By so doing, it became impossible to pull on and off over my head. So, I needed to open up the side seam and figure how to fasten it shut. I chose snaps as you can see in the adjacent picture. I may now be finished with this project, but you never know.
