Finally it is the perfect weather to wear and photo this lovely knit!
“Loft” is aptly named as the project has such a delicate, airy weight. Due to the wool’s texture, the stitches stand up and show off the pattern beautifully.
Details:

  1. For the neckline, the designer suggests purling a row after picking up the stitches and before the ribbing. Adds such a beautiful touch.
  2. On a closely fitted garment, I suggest knitting the sleeves at the same time. Then the sweater will have the same feel around both arms. I am bugged when one sleeve feels the slightest bit tighter than the other.
  3. Don’t let anyone fool you, row gauge as well as stitch gauge is important for proper fit. This sweater is one such example.
  4. The directions were detailed in every way.

The first time I wore my beautiful new sweater a student said, “You look just like a blueberry!” So must this project be named. And, the photo shoot had to be by our “tree of life” with its wonderful twisted branches.

Top 3 photos taken 4/14/2024. This top has had many, many wearings in the last 14 years.
