yarn! What a fabulous gift from a parent of a student I taught last year!

6 skeins of gorgeous alpaca from the local Humming Herd Alpacas and Gift Shop, and what to do? Found this pattern on Ravelry and fell immediately in love with its edgy sleeves. Did not like the amount of editing I needed to do with the pattern, however. The schematic had measurements in both cm. and inches that had to be refigured (in my case, the preferred inches), confusion of no. of stitches per desired size, and I have never seen a pattern where the front neck was knitted one side and then the other. I always wondered if one could, and tried twice. My result was an assymetric, droopy neckline. So, ripped out and knitted the neckline the way I always do, knitting both sides at the same time. The sleeve directions were fine and truly, that is what this top is all about. Even with editing issues to the pattern, I admire Kari-Helene’s eye for design.
