This Redhook Drifter is a generous beach hat with a stingy brim — made with Ella Rae Kasbah, trimmed with a gray silk ribbon. I came up with a new stitch that I’m calling “Straw Braid.” It looks similar to a slip-stitch treatment but has much more body… actually it looks exactly like the straw braids used to make a traditional beach hat.
