Notes

This is more of an architectural study than a pattern exploration—a hooded scarf that is knit from left to right with minimal sewing. The hood is partially lined for stability and structure; stitches are picked up from the back strap which departs from the the front at the neckline. It should be long enough to wrap, but long enough to become cumbersome. This very warm winter gear is meant to be worn casually with a leather jacket. This scarf was modeled for me by my friends Justin and Heather.

This was inspired by costumes from The Hobbit and the LOTR series of movies, written by J. R. R. Tolkein.
