Just look at that pile of handspuns! Isn’t that the most exciting part of a project - at least, till you get it done … I’m so chuffed to finally have a decent collection of coordinating yarns for this. I hope there’s enough of them for it …
4/5/11 - It’s about a metre long now, after a leisurely day of constantly working on it. I started with the Barbarian (Crown Mountain Farms coopworth bulky 2-ply), using the Jewel Cave (corespun from Jazzturtle batts) as the “veins”. Once the Barbarian was finished, I moved onto the Unexpected Guests (supercoil/faux boucle from Kelpie Fibres mixed BFL) and I’m having fun playing with different drop stitch combinations and simple lace repeats.
5/5/11 - Done! Got to be a record! It’s blocking now and I am so excited to be able to wear it hopefully this weekend! I didn’t use all the yarn (dammit) but had I made it any bigger it really would have been ridiculously huge; as it is, it’s one hella big wrap, and not, I think, the most practical of wearables. But I love it and I don’t care.
