Error in pattern: Head, row 15, should be “Color A: P12, Color B: P4, Color A: P12”

This is an extremely well-written pattern with so many advanced techniques. I’m really impressed that I found only one error based on that. This designer is absolutely brilliant! For me, the intarsia (those sections were knitted flat) was the trickiest, difficult to keep the yarn balls straight and untangled.

The pattern doesn’t give much guidance on when to weave in yarn ends, but I recommend not waiting until the end, too hard to weave in at that point. Do them as you go (once you are sure you aren’t going to make a mistake and need to frog, LOL!). The yarn I used is really “sticky” and honestly doesn’t need much weaving… it kind of felts to itself. Highly recommend this Icelandic wool for the cat - looks more like fur with how fuzzy it is!

Note to self: when picking up sts for the body, make sure the RS is facing! Messed this up at first…. also, pick up directly into the outer leg of the knit sts, easier to get to 28 sts per side, and will make the line cleaner looking.

  • In the first knit round after picking up the body sts, work those knits in the back loop since they are twisted (like you’d do after picking up sts on the heel flap for a sock).

It seems like the two “knees” on the back of each front leg are not quite symmetric. Because of this, it’s really important to get the body sts picked up as evenly as possible on both sides to not accentuate that slight non-symmetry. I redid the picking up of sts twice because I was off a bit.

I debated adding eyes and nose before stuffing, but opted to stuff first to get better feel for placement. Tried out some plastic safety eyes, didn’t like the look. Will embroider something instead.

Could have blocked this before stuffing, this wool can bloom/fill out a bit, but I didn’t (mainly because I wanted to stuff the legs halfway before finishing body and head).

For the eyes, this might be a helpful tutorial (I took inspiration from it): https://www.instagram.com/reel/DDfNE3UvaCM/?hl=en

I wish the head was a little larger, but this is sooo cute slightly_smiling_face. Getting the eyes right is one of the most difficult aspects of this! I agonized over that. The eyes really affect the overall image of the piece.
