Showing where I placed markers for ears (stitch just above where the decreases started) and eyes. Stuff head, place eyes, pull stuffing out to lock them in place, then re-stuff.

Using two circulars for the body made it MUCH easier for those wrap and turn short rows. For the head, the DPNs were easier.

Two strands tortie yarn held double on left, one tortie and one black held double on right. Neither looks like a tortie, but I’m going with the left.

Pepper (inspiration). This will NOT look like a real tortie. Even though the version with more black (see other pic) is closer, neither is very close, and the lighter one is more appealing in general (to me).

Dk yarn held double.

Tip: knitting the body with two circulars (in the round) made it MUCH easier, especially for the wrap and turn short rows. Next time, if I make this again, I’ll pick up the initial sts with the two circs instead of 3 DPNs.

Could have gone up a needle size - this was pretty tight / hard on my hands. But I LOVE IT. Turned out perfect.
