Regular viewers may remember that the first crocheted toy I ever designed was a slug called Heinrich. The reason I crocheted him was because I just didn’t have a clue how to create a similar shape with knitting. Then, about six weeks ago, I had a brainwave (whilst walking across a carpark in case you’re wondering)!

If I’ve been beavering away on a design, it can sometimes take me a few weeks to ‘see’ the finished project properly but I loved making Jurgen from the very beginning. I know he won’t be to everyone’s taste but I LOVE him. He’s the perfect size for squishing and his lovely little face cheers me up whenever I see him.

I decided to go with a rather neon green because it was what I had in my stash but there are lots of other colours that would work just as well: lilac (like Heinrich), powder blue, even yellow! I think it would also be lovely to add an element of sparkle!
