Had some questions, emailed designer, and she was helpful, gracious, and charming.

Yarn quality disappointing, for first several yards. Gets thicker and better-spun going in. Hope it hasn’t compromised the garment and made my work a waste of time.

Disappointed with the ending of the piece. It makes a gigantic hole in each rep, for one thing, and doesn’t fit the design of the piece much. I did a p row, then a K row, then (learned!) used the Estonian stretchy bind-off. Very nice, and made the edge look like the cast-on edge. I was afraid this edge would roll, the way it was finished in the pattern, but with the one round of garter ending, it looks better, I think.

There must be a way to finish off both the beginning big-leaf edge, and the finishing edge, to make the designs swirl smoother.

Result is very textured, and not sure it will press out to look the way it did in the pattern.
