Jenny was a very good family friend, who came to my parents’ house annually for many years for Passover Seder. she loved my dolls that i’d sewn (they’re about 27” tall; the body is made from muslin) and made for my mom and grandmothers, and Jenny only wanted a Harry Potter Doll.

Once I learned to crochet, Jenny asked me to make her some cats, and my older daughter made her a seahorse. (it’s the blue&purple one on the page). Her mother still cautioned me about making more things for Jenny, because she already had enough.

Jenny died suddenly on February 14, 2016, only a few days after her 43rd birthday. I thought it would be fitting to crochet a Harry Potter doll for her mother, in Jenny’s memory.
