Loved the symbolism of these socks being knitted for a loved one as they set off in the world… my eldest daughter has just recently started university and the second daughter won’t be too far behind (no rush, please!) … and so I’ve come up with the plan to knit a pair of these socks for each of us to keep our little family of four connected, regardless of how we spread out into the world. Whether I’ll get through four pairs before Christmas is yet to be seen, but at least I’ve made a start. And, it’s a beautiful start.

Finished 28 Nov and I’m in love with these socks - the cabled pattern is gorgeous. On to the next project…

Edit to say my family have made it clear they don’t want any socks. So much for a bonding idea! Frees up my needles to knit for those that I know will appreciate it !
