Notes

I made this blanket by half double crocheting black and white squares and arranged them to look like a crossword puzzle.

I then added black letters onto the white squares by chaining and then shaping the chain into a letter. I attached the letters by sewing them onto the white squares but being careful not to let it show on the reverse side of the square, so that the crossword puzzle with be “solved” on one side and “unsolved” on the reverse side!

This blanket was made for my husband who is getting his degree in mathematics, so I used math words to “solve” the crossword puzzle!

After all the letters were attached, I attached the squares vertically by (sc, ch 1) then horizontally by (sc).

Then to finished off, I added blue, my husband’s favorite color, as a boarder!

I entered this blanket in to the County Fair and won a first place ribbon and a special recognition award!!
