Amazingly fun pattern to knit, with a clever construction that’s great for making it up as you go along. FYIs for other knitters:

1. If you stripe the front garter stitch panels, the collar decreases do end up distorting the stripes on the non-decreased area of the shoulders slightly. Not a huge deal but it is noticeable!

2. Sleeve mods for a hopefully full length sleeve, with some room to grow: after joining up the sides, I knit ten rows in pattern instead of eight. For the first three decrease repeats I added two extra rows (for a total of three) in between each decrease row (so each repeat was eight rows instead of four). Last decrease as in pattern. Cuffs were 31 rows 1x1 ribbing with an invisible ribbed bind off. Cuffs are shown doubled but can ideally be unrolled as the kid’s arms get longer for a few more months’ wear.
