I was crocheting with my friend in my favorite local Starbucks during an especially long and especially cold cold front. An employee asked me if I know how to crochet “lobe mittens.” I’d never seen what he described so I tried a prototype with some white sport wt cotton I had with me. Based on what it was like for him to try to wear it, I went home and decided to try a thinner wool yarn. I figure sock yarn would be ideal. The wool compresses and expands better than the cotton one I made.

On the day I returned with the red wool ones, it was “Theme Day: Disney” so he is rocking a Disney look.
