Notes

This is the pattern variation for a larger foot - they were made to fit shoe size 10 woman’s
Foot Length: 10.25”
Ball: 9”
Instep 9.25”
Ankle: 8.75”
Heel diag: 13”
I made a similar variation for a small foot called blackberry pie.

Toe:
Turkish CO 16 each needle. LI each side every other row until 34 stitches each needle. Begin pattern on needle 2 for top of foot

Foot:
needle one is the sole
Knit every round, until you reach the point where it is time to start increasing for the gusset. 6.2 inches
78 rows
Gusset:
Rnd 1:needle1 - K1, m1l, k to 1 st before end of needle, m1r, k1, needle2 - kte in pattern
(2 sts inc)
Rnd 2: Knit
Repeat Rounds 1 and 2, alternating
until you have reached your upper gusset stitch count 92
stitches on heel needle: 58
Heel Turn:
Row 1: K 19, K to 20 before the end of the needle, m1L, GSR.
Row 2: P to 20 sts before the end of the needle, m1r(p), GSR.
Row 3: K to 2 sts before the double stitch created by the GSR on the row before last, m1l, GSR.
Row 4: P to 2 sts before the double stitch created by the GSR on the row before last, m1r(p), GSR.
Repeat Rows 3 and 4, alternating. 6 times
You have now reached your maximum stitch count, which is 106 stitches 106
stitches on heel needle: 72
Heel Flap:
Row 1: Knit to 20 sts before the end of the needle (work into each double stitch as you come to it, as if it were a single stitch), ssk, turn work.
“Row 2: Sl1, p to 20 sts before the end of the needle (work into each double stitch as you come to
it, as if it were a single stitch), p2tog, turn work. “
Row 3: (Sl1, k1) to 2 sts before the gap, sl1, ssk, turn work.
Row 4: Sl1, p to 1 st before the gap, p2tog, turn work.
Repeat Rows 3 and 4, alternating, until there is just 1 st outside the gap, at each end of the needle.
(Incidentally, this means that you will have worked Rows 3 and 4 a total of 21 times.)
Final Row/Round: (Sl1, k1) to 2 sts before the gap, sl1, ssk, DO NOT TURN THE WORK (you are now working back in the round), k 34. New rounds start at this point.

Leg:
Rnd 1: K2tog, kte (1 st dec - you are now back to “68”)
Rnd 2: Knit
Repeat Round 2 until leg reaches desired length.

Cuff:
Work your favorite ribbing for the desired length
