May 19 - finished! washed it and am blocking it even as we speak……

My 17-18 - Modifications for arms that I actually did:

• 5 stitches picked up under arm
• 10 repeats of gull lace pattern brought me to elbow. Did 13 repeats in total on sleeves.
• remaining three gull lace repeats done with a decrease at the beginning of row 1 of each repeat.
• switched to 4mm needles for cuff
• did 1.25” cuff instead of 1.5”

Reminder to self - do these modifications for arms:

1. Pick up 5 stitches at underarm, not nine. Do decreases on odd rows until gone.
2. To eliminate belling/flare, below the elbow, decrease 2 stitches for each pattern repeat. So every time you knit Round 1 of the gull lace pattern, begin the round with a SSK, and end the round with a K2TOG.
3. Possibly go down 1-2 needle sizes for the garter cuff.

May 16 - Body done! Did 20 lace repeats and 1.5” garter stitch along bottom. I’m 5’3” and wanted the sweater to be 19” at the back, unblocked, and this is just about perfect. I expect to gain an inch or two when I block it.

May 15 - Did 18 gull lace repeats, then tried for length, allowing for garter border and stretching during blocking. I think it needs the extra two repeats for a total of 20, plus the garter border. Will do those extra two tomorrow, I hope.

April 21 - Since February has come and gone, this is my Spring Lady Sweater!

I’m following the basic pattern with the larger buttonholes for the yoke. Thus far, no problems. It’s easy to follow and seems to be going smoothly.

April 23 - Finished the garter stitch yoke. Did YO for sleeves as well as front and back. May not cast on 7 stitches for underarm. Not sure yet. Did three rows garter stitch after eyelet increase row. Am wondering about the length of the sleeves and whether to make them longer. If so, I will need more yarn…..
