Joining body under arms. It’s moved along quite quickly.

About 5 inches since underarm join. Put it aside for weeks In favour of Earnest’s cables. Trying for 4 rows a day to keep it growing. The colour is marvelous!

3mm.
Body bound off as per pattern. 12 repeats.
Used all but a few meters of the sock yarn, and 1.25 mohair to complete body.

SLEEVES

Picked up all the way around the opening - 67 stitches with 3mm needle. i tried multiple times as per pattern but i think i must have fewer rows in the body before the join.

Not confident with direction of wrap to carry the yarn and made some errors that may require holes to be darned

Start decreases later, and fewer of them
Magic loop tricky with the fine mohair, stretches at the crossover points, but I think it should block out well enough. Sleeve flares put from the join with body, will need to block out the tight edge.

Longer than pattern. Last 4 blocks are 5 rounds rather than 4, due to an oversight that I felt made a subtle interesting feature. 10 rounds 1x1 rib with 3mm before slipped rounds for the bind off.

DECREASES

1. End of 4th sock yarn band
2. Start of 6th sock yarn band
3. End of 7th sock yarn band 4.start of 9th sock yarn band And 1 more decrease somewhere sneaky to get to even number for ribbing

Body all done. Still the button band and neck to finish but at least I’m all done with the mohair stripes. It was awkward on the sleeves

2020-11-08 bands complete

Got through the button bands and neck. Not without struggles, getting the same number on on the band’s for example, and knitting wrong number of rows etc. Distracted by the lovely weather I guess. But it’s done now, and I reached my goal of finishing 2 cardigans this weekend. Woohoo!
