Difficulty deciding how to deal with button band and side edge. Went through various options:
. 1 x 1 rib
. Cables with hole for button

Frogged back about 3”
(18 rows before underarm join, and a further 6 rounds for the body)
Not happy with button band decision and edge.
Going with seed st after cable cast-on 10 st each side fro button band
Slip st i-cord selvage

#DEstashREstashMAL2019
Using the MAL as a push to get this project completed!

1st ball of yarn complete
body at 7inches from underarm. Placed st on hold to complete sleeves and see how much yarn remains.
Fit on shoulders and across chest is good. Needs 2 - 3 inches more in length. Maybe a lace stitch for yarn to go farther.
LEFT SLEEVE
with 3.5mm place sleeve stitches on needles, p/up 11 st underarm. K 2 rounds
change to 4mm, K 2 rounds
TO DO
Do same for RIGHT SLEEVE and then place both on single needle to knit at the same time
2019-03-19
OTHER SLEEVE
61 stitches
Decided to go with 3.75mm rather than 4mm
61 st (50 plus 11)
Both sleeves set up on the 3.75mm 32 inch cable

RIBBING
continue button bands in seed stitch and maintain “side seam”
2 x 2 rin (broken)
WS p2, k2 etc

Excited to have bound off the body!!!
2 stitch i-cord bind off, which is unlike binding off since you don’t slip a stitch over another stitch. 30 minutes for the 222 stitches. Love how it blends into the i-cord edge of button band.

Not just pleased to be done with it after almost a year on the needles, but pleased with how it turned out, especially since I was making it up as I went along.
After completing the body, went back to finish the sleeves that I had placed on hold. Decided the seed stitch was not right; Finished with broken rib and bound off with 2stitch i-cord same as body. Sleeves are about 2/3rds length comfortably reaching below my elbows.
Before blocking:
20” neck to bottom
15” across at underarms
10.5” sleeves from underarms
It fits, with a wide v-neck, seed stitch button bands and i-cord edging.
